Word On The Street 2024

I had a great time at the WOTS (Word on the Street) festival in downtown Toronto during the last week of September, 2024. The weather was perfect, the location between Queen’s Park and the wonderful University of Toronto campus beautiful, and the friendly vibe of the booksellers, authors and other vendors divine.

The official book launch for The Equity of Love

I had a wonderful book launch at a local Irish Pub in Etobicoke called The Galway Arms. This pub was where I had written some of the manuscript for The Equity of Love. It is also a place I frequently connect with friends. So, it seemed fitting to celebrate the official launch of the book there!

Word on the Street Festival, September 2024

I have just signed on to exhibit at “The Word On The Street” Book and Magazine Festival happening Saturday September 28, and Sunday September 29, 2024. Put it in your calendar and come by my table!

Great review from BookLife

The BookLife review of The Equity of Love was posted at the end of January, 2024. Once again, I am exceedingly pleased with another very favourable assessment. BookLife notes that: …LaPierre pins down his milieu with persuasive power, charting the aspirations, machinations, and life-upending lusts of the Hardich family’s two privileged but reckless adult children, and the beleaguered team at Enigma Solutions. The review also recognized the book’s attempts at stylistically echoing one of the great 19th century authors by summarizing it as an “engaging Dickensian novel,” that is “precise in its characterization, alive with memorable dialogue, animated with moral purpose, and jolting in its revelations and reversals.” The full review can be found at: https://booklife.com/project/the-equity-of-love-90221

When it comes to the solitary act of writing, it is a shift to move from the creation and storytelling phase to the promotion and marketing process. In fact, it’s a bit nerve wracking. Now, we cross the threshold from the safe and supportive network of people we know that have encouraged us in our writing endeavours and read early drafts providing feedback to the cold critics and the average reader who demand an entertaining product and have no investment in the writer. So, I am pleased to share that the early reviews are looking good for the Equity of Love! Foreword Clarion Reviews has given the book 4 out of 5 stars. Reviewer Kelley Lynne Moncrief praises the intriguing novel for how it captures the early 2000s with nostalgia: “Set in 2004 amid the world of technology companies, this is a novel that is notable for the remarkable detail
